Rev. James Linwood Wise, 62, resident of 814 Watts Street, entered into eternal life Friday morning at his home. Born in Sampson County, James was the son of the late Carl Lemuel Wise, Sr. and Virginia Swaringer Wise. He moved to Durham in 1969. For 30 years he was employed with the Bryant-Durham Electrical Company. With a passion for serving the Lord, James has been preaching for 40 years. He was Pastor of Immanuel Holiness Mission Church. He loved the Lord and was known as Preacher Man. His enthusiasm for serving Christ and his love for people will be greatly missed. Rev. wise is survived by his wife of 26 years, Lisa Suggs Wise; Step-Mother, Vara Lee Wise of Four Oaks; Mother-in-Law, Nelda C. Suggs of Durham; three daughters, Amanda Wise , Jamie Wise Mejia Hector and Shelly Wise all of Durham; two brothers, Shelton Wise of Four Oaks and Carlie Wise of Benson; three sisters, Mary Bissette of Wilson, Julia Denton of Willow Springs and Tammy Kernodle of Coats. Rev. Wise was predeceased by his Son, Johnny Wise and his brother Carl Wise, Jr. Funeral services will be held 11 am Monday, July 11, 2011 at Immanuel Holiness Mission Church 815 Post Avenue, Durham. The Rev. Larry Williams will preside. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Sunday at Hall-Wynne Funeral Home. Pallbearers will include Melvineee Dawson, Amilcar Rosalez, Rex Warren, Louis Tripp, Jimmy Dawson and Curtis Denton.
