Richard Edwin Green, age 58, resident of 3625 Pleasant Grove Church Road, Morrisville, died Friday night following a brief illness. Born in Durham, he was the son of the late Floyd Edwin Green and Bessie Couch Green. Richard was employed for many years with IBM. Richard enjoyed life aneespecially enjoyed the fellowship with his church family, the Nelson Rod and Gun Club, family and friends. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and also enjoyed golf, farming and using his Johneeere tractor. Richard was a loving, kind and generous husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He truly looked for the good in everyone he met and treated everyone with kineess and respect. It was well known that Richard "neer met a stranger". His generosity knew no bounds, always ready to lend a helping hand, a word of advice or encouragement or giving the "shirt off his back". Richard took Jesus' words to heart whenee said, "love one another, even as I have loved you". As a member of Cedar Fork Baptist Church, he served as a deacon, treasurer, teacher of the Adult Men's Class and as a Christian role model to everyone he met. All who knew him will miss his loving heart and generous nature. Surviving are his wife, Bonee McFall Green, daughter, Tamara Michelle Green of Durham; son Eric Floyd Green of Durham; two brothers, John Floyd Green and Wallace Couch Green both of Atlanta, GA and two grandchildren, Mikayla Faith Green and Mikenee Hope Green both of Durham. Funeral services will be held 11AM Tuesday in Hall-Wynne Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Fred Williams and Rev. Roneedick will preside. Burial will be in Brier Creek Memorial Gardens. Visitation from 7 to 9 PM Monday at Hall-Wynne Funeral Home. Flowers are acceptable or memorials may be made to the Cedar Fork Baptist Church, 5117 S. Miami Blvd., Durham, NC 27703
