Richard Matthew Bond

Mr. Richard Matthew Bond, age 67, died on April 8, 2022.  He was the son of the late Clifford Henry Bond and Mary Jane Shutlack Bond where he began his life in Fauquier County, VA on September 21, 1954.  

Rick is survived by 2 brothers, C. David Bond, Jefferson, MD and Michael F. Bond, San Antonio, TX; and 3 sisters, Catherine A. Dorton, LaGrange, NC; Elizabeth M. Bond, Oxford, NC and Patricia J. Bond, Oxford, NC.   He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, Lisa (Bond) Filicko, Midlothian, VA; Sandra Dorton, Axton, VA; Gregory Bond, Myrtle Beach, SC; Karen Bond Snyder, Potomac Falls, VA; Maria R. Bond, Tahlequah, OK; Katherine Bond Helms, Chapin, SC; Jeffrey Bond, Petersburg, VA; Joseph Bond, Vienna, VA; and Jacob Bond, Vienna, VA.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Gentry-Newell & Vaughan Chapel. The family will receive guests after the service.

The family requests that all attendees wear appropriate face coverings and adhere to the safe practice of social distancing.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Rick’s memory to the Granville County Animal Shelter or a charity of your choice.
