Robert " Gene" Eugene Newcomb

Robert ???Gene??? Eugene Newcomb, 69, of Oxford, NC died Monday, July 15, 2019 at his home.?? He was born in Vance County on July 18, 1949 to his now predeceased parents, Robert Lee Newcomb aneevelyn (Riggan) Newcomb.?? He was the youngest of nee children. His military experience was extremely important to him. ??He served in the US Air Force where he served as a logistics coordinator during the Vietnam war. He later enlisted with the US National Guard. Robert is survived by his wife of 22 years, Wanda Newcomb; sons, Kevin Edward Newcomb (Pamela), and Patrick Newcomb (Jenneer); daughters, Alison Munn, Jenneer Boone (Travis), and Angela Whirley; fifteen grandchildren; and one sister. In addition to his parents, Robert is also predeceased by seven of his other siblings. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at 1:00 pm from Clearview Church, 3485 Hwy 158 Bus. (Oxford Rd.),??Henderson, NC 27537.?? Burial will follow. ??The family will receive guests for visitation oneednesday, July 17, 2019 from 6:00 pm ??? 7:30 pm at Gentry-neell & Vaughan Funeral Home, 503 College St., Oxford, NC.
