Oxford: Robert H. B. neent, age 89 a resident of Oxford died neember 1, 2009. He was a native of Ruston, La. And was the son of the late Matthew Colombus and Mary Belle Hinton neent. He was a 1938 graduate of Ruston High School, attended La Tech, a veteran of the Navy serving in WWII, a member of the Uneed Brotherhood of carpenters and Joiners of America for 60 years, was owner of a construction business in the Fredericksburg area in the 1950's for 20 years, a member of the Board of Supervisory in Spotsylvania Co. and in Carthage, Texas. for 7 years before retiring to Granville Co., NC in 1985. He was a member of Grassy Creek Baptist Church, a former member of Fredericksburg Baptist Church and the Gideon's International. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday from the Grassy Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Johnny Armstrong. Graveside services will be conducted Thursday at 1:00 PM at the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Fredericksburg, Va. with Military Rites. Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Merton Douglas neent; a daughter, Susan neent Lambert of Tampa, Fl.; his granddaughter, Kathleen Michelli of baton Rouge, La., and four great grandchildren. He was preceded ineeath by a daughter, Mary Olivia neent and a son, Frederick neent. The family will receive friends following the services in the Santuary of Grassy Creek Baptist Church.
