Robert J. Heimlich, 91, died on Saturday, January 07, 2012. Robert was born in Camden, NJ to the late Charles and Gertrude Nelsoneeimlich on January 22, 1920. Robert was a loving husband, father and friend to anyone that he had the opportunity to come in contact with. Robert was a member of Holy Infant Catholic Church in Durham, NC., an active member of the Knights of Columbus Annunciation Council #3826, Robert was also a veteran of WWII. "He was a loving man that was proud of his family. Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years Lillian M Engel Heimlich of Durham, NC; daughter Lillian M. Brown and husband Thomas of Durham, NC; Linda Ann Herndoneeceased of Manahawkin, NJ.; Grandchildren Scott Palmer and wife Diane, Michelle Murphy and husband Dennis, Cynthia Williams and husband Jon; Great-grandchilren Ellie, Jacob, Caroline, Palmer, Hannah and Kialey Williams; Ryan Captain America Murphy; and sister Gertrude Armstrong of Marco Island, FL. Robert is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered 10:00am Tuesday, January 10, 2012 from Holy Infant Catholic Church, 5000 Southpark Drive, Durham, North Carolina 27713 with Fr. Dave Devlin, O.S.F.S. presiding.
