Robert Lee Lloyd

OXFORD: Robert Lee Lloyd, 80 died January 18, 2013 at UNC Hospital, Chapel Hill after a brief illness. He was a native of Granville Co. and was the son of the late Thomas Clyde and Irene Mangum Lloyd. Robert was a member of Salem Uneed Methodist Church, a veteran of the US Army and retired from the textile industry. Funeral services will be conducted Monday January 21, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Gentry-neell & Vaughan Funeral Home by Rev. John Yount. Burial will be at Salem Uneed Methodist Church Cemetery. He is survived by a daughter, Susan CottrellJR and a son, Tommy LloydMarybeth both of Oxford; grandchildren, Brett CottrellEmily of Wilmington, Brandi Pearce Eric& Kristi Lloyd; a sister, Marie Wilson of Stovall, two brothers, Carl Lloyd of Smyrna, GA and Charles Lloyd of Durham. He was preceded ineeath by his wife, Mary P. Lloyd, and sisters Mildred Wilson and Janie O'Brien. The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the services at the funeral home. At other times they will be at the home of JR and Susan Cottrell, 3689 Chewning Rd., Oxford, NC 27565. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Salem Uneed Methodist Church, c/o Phyllis Stark, 6639 Horner Siding Rd., Oxford, NC 27565.
