Robert Owen Gooch

Robert Owen Gooch, 83, died Sunday April 20, 2014 at Duke Regional Hospital. A native of Durham he was the son of the late Floyd Gooch and Ruby Picket Gooch. Robert was a Veteran of the U. S Air Force. He was longtime member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, served as deacon, and Sunday school teacher. He retired after 42 years from Duke Uneersity Brace and Limb Shop. He was preceded ineeath by his wife Betty Stafford Gooch. Robert is survived by his sons, Robert Douglas Gooch of Hillsborough and friend, Judy of Butner; Kenneth James Gooch and wife, Susan of Hillsborough; his sister, Peggy Brown of Durham; his grandchildren, Stephanie Gooch, Brittany Gooch and his great grandson, Brenan Gooch. Funeral Services will be held 2:00PM Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Mt Moriah Baptist Church with the Rev. James Taylor and Rev. Jimmy Bland officiating. Friends may visit from 1:00 2:00 pm prior to the service Wednesday at the church.
