Ronald “Ronnie” Allen Haskins, age 72, died on July 11, 2020 at Hock Family Pavilion. He was the son of the late Earl Joseph Haskins and Myrtle Nicholson Haskins. Ronnie was born in Granville County on September 3, 1947.
Ronnie was a man who loved people, he served the people of Oxford with patience and a fortitude while covering his route with the Post Office. He loved to attend NC State Football games with his wife. He was an avid player of golf and loved to watch and play basketball. He enjoyed talking to friends and family and watching “Andy Griffith”, “Gun Smoke” and “Judge Judy” and listening to music.
Ronnie is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Anne Adcock Haskins of Oxford; his son, Michael Allen Haskins of Raleigh; his brothers, Joe Haskins (Pam) of Blunts Creek, NC and Jerry Haskins (Bobbi) of Hickory, NC; his sister-in-law, Cynthia Bryant (John) of Oxford, NC. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, Joe Haskins, Jr, (Heather), Brigitte Haskins, Ryan Horton, Tyler Hall, Randy Haskins (Joselyn), Derrick Haskins (Bethany), Lena Robertson (Lee) and children, Joshua, Kailee and Nathan; and Chelsea Taylor and son, Nate. He will be deeply missed by numerous loving friends and family.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents.
A drive-thru visitation will be held for family and friends from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2020, at Hester Baptist Church in Oxford, NC. A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm the same day. The memorial service will be officiated by Dr. Jeff Hensley, Dr. Randy Bridges, and Dr. Cheryl Benson.
