Chapel Hill, NC - Rose Mary Steineendek died at home on neember 6, 2016 surrounded by her loving family, her dedicated caregivers and her neesake puppy, Rosie. Born in Johnstown, PA in 1935, she was the loving wife of John R. Sendek, to whom she was married for 58 years.?? They spent most of their time in Washington State.?? Rose was professional homemaker, raising her sons, John T. Sendek and Jeff Sicinski Sendek.?? She had many friends with whom she shared card games, recipes and her deep love of dogs.?? She recently moved to North Carolina to be close to her grandchildren, Destiny Sicinski-Sendek (8), Lewis Sicinski-Sendek (7), Tyler Sendek (21) aneemily Sendek (24).?? She also shared the joy of her great grandson,?? Braydon Parnicky. Rose spent the final months of her earthly life exploring the Chapel Hill area, going on great adventures with Donna Hughes Randall and her husband Mike.?? They attended the North Carolina State Fair, went to the Morehead Planetarium aneenjoyed many, many chocolate ice cream cones. In addition to her husband, sons, and grandchildren, she is survived by her sister Nancy Hoffman and brother-in-law Lawrence, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and her daughter-in-law, Christine Sicinski. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered on Thursday, neember 10, 2016 at 9:00am from Holy Infant Catholic Church, 5000 Southpark Drive, Durham, NC 27713.?? Father Robert M. Rutledge, OSFS will preside. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to UNC Hospice, PO Box 1077, Pittsboro, NC 27312, so that others may enjoy the comfort of care in their final days.
