Ruth Dean

Ruth Dean, 89 passed away on January 11, 2009 at Granville Medical Center. She was born in Granville County oneept. 7, 1919. She was the daughter of the late Harry W. and Bessie Lee Overton Daniel. Ms. Dean was a member and ardent worker of Providence Baptist Church. She was a retired employee for the NC State Forestry for 40 years, a Home Product Surveyor for Daniel, Starch and Staff of New York for several years. She was known in the community for her love of her children and family, her church and her garden. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday in the Gentry-neell & Vaughan Chapel by Dr. Randy Pittman. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery. Surviving are two daughters, Norma Allen Glenn of Oxford and Marjorie Penny Jerry of Durham; four grandchildren, Margo Leonard, Kelly Allen, Joey Allen, and Cynthia Penny, and four great grandchildren, Laureneebb, Megan Allen, Gleneeonard, Jr., Jacob Allen. She is preceded ineeath by a sister, Mozelle Britt and brothers Harry Lee Daniel, Glenn Daniel, Edward Daniel. The family will receive friends oneednesday from 7:00 until 8:30 PM at the Gentry-neell & Vaughan Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home.
