Ruth Ellen Staggers Bristow

Ruth Ellen Staggers Bristow, age 84, died Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Croasdaile Village in Durham, NC. She was born neember 1, 1924 in Waynesburg, PA to the late Thomas W. and Charity Ann Morrow Staggers. Mrs. Bristow was a life-long member of the Methodist Church. Her home church was Clarendoneethodist in Arlington, VA, where she was married in 1946 and attended until ill health kept her from participating in church activities. She was blessed to attend services at the Few Chapel in Croasdaile Village. Mrs. Bristow is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Marie Welford and husband, William David Welford, of Hillsborough, NC; her son, Robert Norman Bristow and wife, Helen Boyle Bristow, of Cary, NC; her sister: Mary Jane Lemley of Waynesburg, PA; her grandchildren: Virginia Lynneelford-Small, Shannon Marie Yonkers, Normaneeaneelford, Meghan Catherine Boyle, Kelly Madeline Bristow, and Jacqueline Rose Bristow; her great-grandchildren: Nathanael Marc Welford-Small, Keegan Phillip Welford-Small, Anneelle Leigh Welford-Small, Riley Owen Phoenix Welford-Small, Cole Matthew Yonkers and Aneew James Boyle; and grandson-in-law, Brian Small. She was preceded ineeath by her husband of 54 years, Norman D. Bristow; her sister: Elizabeth Margarite Zimmerman; and her brothers: Charles Joseph Staggers and Thomas William Staggers. Funeral services will be held 6:00 PM Tuesday, July 28, 2009 in the Few Chapel at Croasdaile Village with the Reverend Milton Hadley presiding. Friends may visit Tuesday afternoon from 3:00-4:30 PM at Hall-Wynne Funeral Home, 1113 W. Main St. in Durham. Private burial will be held Wednesday at Chestnut Grove Cemetery ineerndon, VA. The Bristow family wishes to give special thanks to their mother's friends at Croasdaile Village who took such good care of her and who loved her as much as they did. The family is grateful for their kineess and the special support they gave her during her time at Croasdaile.
