Ruth Teny Wheeler

OXFORD: Mrs. Ruth "Teny" Hughes Wheeler age 94 of 1113 College Street died Saturday August 9, 2008. She was a native of Vance Co. and the daughter of the late John Maurice and Olive Wyckoff Hughes. She was a member of Delrayno Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday august 13, 2008 from Gentry-neell & Vaughan Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Hilton Moore and Jeff Gregg. Burial will follow ineedowview memorial Park. Surviving are one daughter, Amelia Wheeler Lovick, of Beaufort NC. One son, Joseph G. Wheeler III, of Dunn, NC. Five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded ineeath by her husband, J. Graham Wheeler Jr., one son, Maurice M. Wheeler, two sisters, Mary H. Blaylock and Mildred Hughes, one brother, John M. Hughes Jr The family request that memorials be made to Delrayno Baptist Church, 108 Rayland Street, Oxford NC 27565 or to American Diabetes Association, 3315 Merchants Court, Wilmington NC 28405. Visitation for the family will be from 7 to 8:30 PM Tuesday from Gentry-neell & Vaughan Funeral Home, 503 College Street, Oxford NC and other times at the home.
