Sarah Margaret Thompson Poole

Sarah Margaret Thompson Poole, borneeptember 10, 1946 in Durham, North Carolina, died suddenly while oneer daily walk, near her home in Laurel Springs, North Carolina with her trusted canee companion Slag. She was the daughter of the late Garland H. Thompson and Martha Frances Blue Thompson. Sarah is survived by longtime companion, Glen Attaway, her daughter, Pamela Poole Porter Bill, son, Christopher York Poole Christina, grandsons, Bryant Keith Poole Stephanie, Colton York Poole, granddaughter, Madison Michelle Porter, great grandson, Braedan Chase Poole, and many nieces and nephews Sarah was preceded ineeath by her brothers William Daniel Thompson, John Warren Thompson, and Garland Henry Thompson, Jr. She is survived by her sisters, Carolyn Frances Francis, Nancy Lee Couch, and Molly Bateman Pruitt Thomas. . In 1964, Sarah graduated from Durham High School. Sarah received a degree in accounting from Durham Technical College, and was self-employed in the tax and accounting business for many years before she joined the business of real estate, and obtained her broker's license. She worked for Prudential Carolina Real Estate, and retired from C. Woody Homes Realty in 2006. Sarah was loved and adored by every member of her family. Her greatest joy was being "Grandma Honey Bear" to her grandchildren and great grandchild. Sarah's smile, laughter, and happy nature made an indelible mark on our very being, and we are grateful to carry her radiant spirit in our hearts forever. A Funeral Service will be offered 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 04, 2012 from Hall-Wynne Funeral Service Chapel, 1113 W. Main Street, Durham, NC 27701. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Durham.
