Sarah Nell Daniel Wallace, affectionately known as Nell, was born on December 30, 1953, in Oxford, North Carolina, and left this world on December 28, 2024, in Durham, North Carolina. With a career that spanned an impressive 30 years, Nell dedicated herself to her work at Northern Telecom to Flextronics, where she was known for her respected and straightforward approach. Her commitment to excellence resonated throughout her professional life, leaving a lasting impression on colleagues and friends alike.
A proud graduate of South Granville High School, Nell's educational journey laid the foundation for a life marked by dedication and achievement. She was a woman who embraced challenges with grace and resilience, qualities that endeared her to all who knew her. She accepted her Lord and Savior on January 1, 1965 and was a devout member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and later in life of Landmark Baptist Church, where she will be laid to rest.
Nell's family was her heart and soul. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 49 years, Thomas "Tommy" Lee Wallace, who stood by her side through the ups and downs of life. Their love was a beacon of strength and support. Nell is also survived by her cherished daughters, Lisa Ann Wallace Garcia (Jesus) and Susan Renea Wallace, who carry forward her legacy of love and determination. The depth of her devotion extended to her grandchildren, Joseph, David, Brianna, Jessy, Amy, and Matthew, who were the light of her life.
In addition to her immediate family, Nell is remembered fondly by her sisters, Christine Hicks, Brenda Brogden and brother-in-law, Billy Fuller, who shared countless memories and moments of laughter with her. She was predeceased by her father, Thomas Lynwood Daniel, her mother, Susie Wilson Daniel, her grandson, Daniel Garcia, and her siblings, Darious Daniel, Carolyn Fuller, and Thomas Earl Daniel, all of whom she loved dearly and held close to her heart.
Throughout her life, Nell's unwavering spirit and loving nature touched many. She leaves behind a legacy enriched by countless extended family members and friends, who will forever cherish the moments spent with her. Though her presence will be profoundly missed, the love she shared will continue to resonate in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Gentry-Newell & Vaughan, where all family and friends are welcomed, with a funeral service on Friday, January 3, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel at Gentry-Newell & Vaughan. Burial will be held at Landmark Baptist Church in Creedmoor, NC after the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Nell's honor may be made to Landmark Baptist Church.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to her doctors and nurses at Duke University Hospital for their care and compassion.
