Serena Faucette Flynn

Serena L. Faucette Flynn, age 86, died on February 3, 2022.  She was the daughter of the late George Lee Faucette and Erma Beasley Faucette.  Serena was born in Granville County on March 23, 1935 

Serena was a woman of determination and a very loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great, great grandmother.   She loved her work in the emergency services, from starting out in dispatch to retiring as Sergeant from the Oxford Police Department.  She had the prestige of being the First Female officer at Oxford Police Department as a Patrol officer, then a Lieutenant and retired with 22 years in as a Sergeant.

Serena is survived by her children, Kevin Flynn, Tony Flynn, Kenneth Flynn, Susan Keeton, Cynthia Watson and Phyllis R. Flynn; her 9 beloved grandchildren; her 8 amazing great grandchildren and 8 adored great, great grandchildren. She will be missed by many friends and extended family too numerous to name.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Gentry-Newell & Vaughan.  A visitation for family and friends will be held at 1:00 pm. Service to be officiated by Nathan Cobbs. Inurnment will be private later.
