Stephen William Hart

Mr. Stephen William Hart, age 91 of Mountain Creek community, Oxford, died Saturday, neember 16, 2013 at Granville Medical Center. He was a native of Granville County and the son of the late W. W. Hart and Cora Frazier Hart. Mr. Hart was a member of Mountain Creek Baptist church, where he served as deacon, chairman of usher, and was a member of Steadfast Sunday School Class. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII and was retired Owner and Operator of Hart's Used Cars and was also a tobacco farmer. He also coached women's church softball and men's softball aneenjoyed car racing. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, neember 19, 2013 at Mountain Creek Baptist Church by Reverend Johnny Richards, J. Lemar Wheeler, Carol Glasscock and Norman Talley. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Surviving is his wife of 70 years, Irma H. Hart; two sons, Steve Hart Brenda and Ricky W. Hart Peggy; a daughter, Joy H. Blackwell Eugene all of Oxford; two sisters, Emma H. Snoddy of Red Bank, VA, Rena H. Yancey of Oxford. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 16 great - great grandchildren. He was preceded ineeath by a daughter Ann H. Culbreth and a sister Lucy H. Dickerson. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Mountain Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Gilbert Wilson, 1716 Sam Blackwell Road, Oxford, NC 27565. The family will received friends from 7:00 until 8:30 PM on Monday evening at Gentry-neell & Vaughan Funeral Home and at other time at Ricky & Peggy Hart, Mountain Creek Road, Oxford, NC 27565.
