DURHAM - Steven J Pruner, 69, entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on March 17th, 2022.
He was born in Grants Pass, Oregon on August 8th, 1952. He graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in Fremont, California in 1970. He went on to earn a Master of Business Administration degree. He was a veteran of the Air Force, achieving the rank of Sergeant. He had many successful entrepreneurial endeavors, was a staunch defender of the Constitution, had awards in competitive shooting, and he was passionate about motorcycles and tinkering in his workshop. Steve devoted himself to the Catholic Church, becoming a member of the Knights of Columbus along with many acts of volunteering.
Steve is survived by his sister Donna O’Keefe, sons Joel Pruner and Joshua Pruner, daughters Karen Pruner, Suzanne Jones (Paul), Stephanie Massengale (Gabriel), and Julie Rebecca Pruner. He is also survived by his grandchildren Alexa, Maya, Sarah, Zachary, Elijah, Lucas, Cameron, Damian, Rosalie, and Georgia. Steve was predeceased by his brother Donald “Butch” Pruner, sister Tama Arnberg, daughter Jodee Laurine Pruner, and former wife, Alynn Norton.
Visitation services will be held Wednesday, March 23rd, 5-7pm, at Hall-Wynne Funeral Home, 1113 W. Main Street, Durham.
A graveside ceremony and burial with military honors will be held Thursday, March 24th at 1pm at St. Matthews Catholic Church, 1001 Mason Road, Durham.
The family will be gathering at Bralie’s 2, 4707 Hillsborough Road after the burial in celebration of Steve’s life, all are welcome.
