Stewart Parks Alexander, Jr., 84, died Wednesday following an extended illness. He was born October 17, 1921 to Stewart P. and Josephine Thompson Alexander. Mr. Alexander attended Durham City Schools, graduating from Durham High School. He attended the Severn School prior to entering the U.S. Naval Academy. After graduation, he served his Country during WW II in the Pacific, earning the rank of lieutenant. Mr. Alexander returned to Durham and joined the family business of Alexander Motor Company, which he ran until retirement in 1980. Among his civic activities, Mr. Alexander and his father held the unique distinction in 1957, of being the first father and soneeam to ever head a fundraisineeffort for the Uneed Way.
