Sue Betty Parrott, age 85, of Oxford, NC died peacefully on March 1, 2022. She was born in Person County, North Carolina to her late parents, Early George Gill and Mattie Ann Lunsford Gill on May 3, 1936.
Sue Betty was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, affectionately known as “Mema”. She was a faithful Christian and a dedicated member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Sue Betty is survived by her 2 children, Tony & wife, Shirley, and Tracy & wife, Allison. She is survived by her grandchildren, Brittany Parrott Brown & husband, Doug; Evan Parrott & wife, Katie; Noah Parrott, Graham Parrott, Leah Parrott, Landon Parrott and her great granddaughter, Adelyn Anne Parrott. She is also survived by her step-granddaughters, Blair Ackiss (Tyler) and Paige Welsh (Michael) and step-great grandchildren, Isabel Jackson (Dakota) and Gracie Phet (Arron) and step-great grandchild, Saylor Mae. Her siblings, Dorothy Clark, Elsie Davis, Lessie Preddy (Dennis) and Clessie Adcock will greatly miss her, along with many cherished nieces, nephews and in-laws too numerous to name.
Sue Betty is predeceased by her husband, Floyd Jones Parrott; her siblings, Christine Hurdle, Mary Mitchell, Mildred Hubbard, Pasco Gill, Gertrude Lee and Harold Gill.
Funeral services will be held on March 4, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Oxford, NC and officiated by Rev. William Wheeler. A visitation for family and friends will be held on March 4, 2022, from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall at Mt. Zion. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations in her memory to the Education Scholarship Fund Mt. Zion Baptist Church at 1171 US Highway 158, Oxford, NC 27565.
