Susan Batts Bowers

Mrs. Susan Batts Bowers, 61, of Pittsboro died August 31, 2012 at her home. Born in Wake County on August 28, 1951, she was the daughter of Lewis Jasper Batts and Frances Elizabeth Lundy Batts. Mrs. Bowers enjoyed sewing and crafts; home interior design and reading. She liked visiting the mountains and historical locales, with Williamsburg being her favorite. Mrs. Bowers loved spending time with her family and friends, especially with her daughter Ashley and grandson Noah. Mrs. Bowers was an engineer and retired from the NCDOT after 30 plus years of service. She is survived by her daughter Ashley Dix Emery and son-in-law Blane, of Pittsboro; grandson, Noah Emery; mother, Frances Elizabeth Lundy Batts Watson of Garner; father, Lewis Jasper Batts of Wendell; brother and sister-in-law, Steven and Dale Batts and their daughter Cameron, of Clayton; and a number of aunts, unees, cousins and friends; and former husband, Larry Dix. A memorial service for Mrs. Susan Batts Bowers will be held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon, September 2, 2012 at Hall Wynne Funeral Home in Pittsboro.
