Thomas Anderson Love, Ii

Thomas Anderson Love, II, age 84, died August 11, 2010. Born June 26, 1926 at Watts Hospital, he was son of the late Roderick Milner Love and Zoe Yoder Love. He attended Hope Valley School, Carr Junior High and graduated from Durham High in 1944. He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1944 to 1946. He graduated from Duke Uneersity in 1950 where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. While at Duke he was a member of the Hoof & Horn Musical Society, composing music for two shows, flapper sales and Bells and Ballads. He performed rehearsal piano for flapper sales and was in the pit for bells and ballads. From 1951 to 1987, he was employed with Liggett Myers as an Alcohol and Fire Arms clerk, retiring in 1987 after 36 years of service. During his career he worked all over the south and was office maneer in Paris, Kentucky. He was also a member of the Honorable Elders Kiwanis Club. Mr. Love was a very creative artist and musician who left his family with many memories and artifacts they will cherish. He was married to Frances Elleneennessey Love July 7, 1962. In addition to his wife, he leaves two children; Anthony Connelly Love, married to Melissa Yates and Margaret Ritchey Love Wolford; three grandchildren, Brett Anderson Love, Brooke Lorran Love and Jeffrey Thomas Love Wolford; and several nieces and nephews. He will also be dearly missed by his beloved dog, Smooch. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 16, 2010 at Holy Infant Catholic Church. Father Joseph Brennan will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Matthew Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 5:00 pm Sunday, August 15 at Hall-Wynne Funeral Services.
