Oxford, NC Thomas Chafen Cook, 79, died unexpectedly on November 5, 2018 after a tragic accident. Born to the late Clayton Thomas Cook and Ruby Etta Garner Cook on October 6, 1939 in Orange County, NC. TC met and married Betty Jean Cole. TC is survived by his three beautiful daughters; Cindy Cook (Gina), Beth Cook, and Christie Cook West (Jeff); grandchildren, Jeana Sue Dement (Dicky), Kolbe Lyn Thomas, Kadee Ann Thomas, Caitlin Ann West, Jacob Nathaniel Cook, Kayla Grace Cook, Kyndall Elizabeth Cook; his great grandchild, Julia and his adorable grand dog, Otis. He is also survived by his brothers; Wesley Cook (Pat), Kenny Cook (Gloria), William Cook (Trudy); special nephews, Eddie and Danny Keeton; his special, traveling companion, Juanita Youngblood and his longtime friend and neighbor, Gary Grissom; along with many loving nieces, nephews, family and friends. TC was predeceased by his parents; his loving wife, Betty Jean and his brother and sister-in law, Clyde Cook and Merle. Visitation for TC will be on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Gentry-Newell - Vaughan from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The funeral services will be held Friday, November 9, 2018 at 11:00 am at Stovall Methodist Church,109 US-15, Stovall, NC 27582 with burial to follow at Salem United Methodist Church, 4151 Salem Rd, Oxford, NC 27565. Flowers are accepted and appreciated, or you may make a memorial donation to the NC State Highway Patrol Fallen Officers Fund or to the Shriners Hospital in honor.
