Tommy Burns, Sr.

Mr. Tommy Burns, Sr. 70, of Parkview Retirement Center and formerly of Pittsboro, died January 20, 2008 at Parkview Retirement Center. Tommy was born in Chatham County on May 26, 1937, the son of Henry Grady Burns and Pearl Batten Burns. He was a former conservation officer with the USDA. Prior to being injured in a vehicle accident, Tommy was instrumental ineetting Little League Baseball started in Pittsboro in the 1970's. Survivors include his children, Renee Krombach, Tommy Burns, Jr. aneernie Burns; three grandchildren; and a sister, Maxine Gunter. The service to celebrate his life will be conducted by Rev. Jim Whittaker at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, January 22, 2008 from the graveside at Meroney Uneed Methodist Church Cemetery, 10568 NC Hwy 902, Bear Creek. Friends may visit with the family in the church fellowship hall following the service.
