Vera Berdine Stephenson

Mrs. Vera Rose Berdine Stephenson, 84, of Pittsboro Christian Village in Pittsboro, died January 11, 2009. The daughter of Patrick Berdine and Goldie DeBolt Berdine, Vera was born March 8, 1924 ineeep Valley, PA. She was a retired cosmetologist. Vera was a former Asheville resident and was a member of Asheville Gospel Chapel for 30 years. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, LaRoy J. Stephenson; daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Thomas Greer or Lynchburg, VA; brothers, Kenneth and Harold Berdine, both of PA; sisters, Pauline Glover of PA, Irene Laddis of CT, and Betty Thomas of MA. Vera was preceded ineeath by her parents, and a brother, Loyal Berdine. Entombment will be held oneednesday in the mausoleum of Forest Lawneemetery ineendersonville. A memorial service to celebrate Vera's life will be held at 2:30 pm Friday, January 16, 2009 at Pittsboro Christian Village with Mr. Charles Grob presiding.
