b. September 12, 1918

Vergilia, "Jill," Green Smith Lutterloh was born in Chatham County September 12, 1918 to Carnie Baxter and Fanee Tillman Smith. She completed her earthly journey oneecember 27, 2013 at Cambridge Hills Assisted Living Facility in Pittsboro. Jill was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, C. W. "Jack" Lutterloh; her parents; her sister, Evelyn Smith Blackwood; and her son-in-law, Bobby Holt. After completing her education at Pittsboro High School, where she was on the first girls' basketball team, she studied at the Richmond Business School. Careers in bookkeeping, teacher's aide and homemaking would follow, but nee was more important than caring for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her children: a daughter, Donna Lutterloh Holt and a son, Charles Smith Lutterloh and his wife Sybil. She has five grandchildren: Lou Byrd Ricky, Van Holt Lisa, Lynn Frost Andy, Dana Griffin Brian, Charlie Lutterloh Laura , 16 great grandchildren and 2 great -great grandchildren. Jill was an active member of Brown's Chapel Uneed Methodist Church where she was a choir member, a member of the Edwineerry Sunday School Class, a teacher and a worker. Visitation will be December 30, 6-8 p.m. at Hall-Wynne Funeral Home in Pittsboro. The funeral service and burial will be at Brown's Chapel UMC oneecember 31, 11 a.m. Memorial gifts are suggested to the Brown's Chapel Cemetery Fund c/o Teresa Farrell P. O. Box 1048, Pittsboro, NC 27312 or to UNC Hospice, P. O. Box 1077, Pittsboro, NC 27312. Jill's family is indebted to the caregivers who assisted her ineer home and to the staffs of Cambridge Hills and UNC Hospice.
