Verona Peterson Vickers

DURHAM- Verona Peterson Vickers, 108, passed away peacefully Friday, August 8, 2014 at Carolina Pointe. Verona was borneept. 29, 1905 to the late Christopher Columbus Peterson and Helen Tatum Peterson. Verona was member of Temple Baptist Church and the Sunshine Bible Class. She was a longtime employee of Belk. Verona is survived by her daughter, Vicki Aneews and husband, Zalph of Newport News, VA; her grandson, Zalph H. Aneews III and wife, Maureen of Newport News, VA; her great granddaughter, Zoe Aneews; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may visit from 1:30-2:30pm Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held 2:30 pm Tuesday, August 12, 2014 in the Chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service with Dr. J. Steven Bolton officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Temple Baptist Church, 4504 Sterling Drive, Durham, NC 27712.
