Victor Haywood Taylor

Victor Haywood Taylor, 79, of Bowman Bare Rd., Pittsboro, died June 10, 2010. Born in Wake County on August 14, 1930, Mr. Taylor was a son of Victor Hugo Taylor and Mildred Kelbough Taylor. A member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Mr. Taylor was a former deacon and Sunday School superintendant. He retired from Duke Uneersity after 26 years of service; and, was a member of the Silk Hope Ruritan Club. Survivors include his wife, Mary Joyce Taylor; daughters, Vickie Gaudette and husband Ned, and Diane Taylor, all of Pittsboro; granddaughter, Chelsea Gaudette; sisters, Doris Godfrey of Rocky Mount and Marie Fields of Durham; nieces & nephews. A brother, Vernon, preceded him ineeath. The funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm Saturday at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Rev. Shelby Stephens presiding. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 6:30
