Virginia Lee Landis Estes

Virginia Lee Landis Estes, 90, of Oxford died Thursday August 6, 2015. A native of Oxford, she is the daughter of the late William Thorpe Landis and Martha Pond Landis. She is the widow of Thomas Burneestes. She was a lifelong member of St. Stepheneepiscopal Church. She was dearly loved by her family and was always there to offer her strength, love, and wisdom. She will be missed more than words can say. Surviving are daughters, Mary Hamlin Estes of Kilmarnock, Virginia and Virginia Estes Claiborne (William) of Oxford; sons, Thomas B. Estes, III (Becky) of Raleigh, and Lee Carson Estes of San Diego, California. Five granddaughters, Heather Miller, Nancy Harder, Martha Jones, Helen Claiborne, and Sarah Claiborne; one grandson, Thomas Brandon Estes; and three great grandchildren; two sisters, Marianna Beddingfield of Charlotte and Martha Dean of Richmond, Virginia; one brother, William T. Landis of Oxford. Mrs. Estes was predeceased by a daughter, Anee. Maness. The family will receive friends from 10:00 ??? 11:00 AM Monday, August 10, 2015 at the Parrish Hall of St. Stepheneepiscopal Church in Oxford, NC. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00AM at St. Stephens by Reverend Jamie Pahl and Reverend Richard Mill. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
