Virginia Moye

Virginia Dean Moye, age 83, died on January 18, 2021 in Port Saint Lucie, FL. She was born to the late Cuther Dean and Cora Lee Dean in Oxford, NC on June 15, 1937.

Virginia was a woman who believed strongly in family and adored her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She worked hard to provide for her boys and made sure they had no financial burden for college, even to the point that when each boy graduated high school, they were awarded with a new Ford Pinto to start their college journey. Virginia loved to travel and went to Europe, Canada and her favorite, Hawaii. She graduated school in Oxford, then attended the Business School and went to work as an Administrative assistant in the area of finances.

Virginia is survived by her husband of 64 years, Gene Arthur Moye; her sons, Gene Arthur Moye, Jr, Michael Moye and Jerry Moye; her siblings, Margaret Burwell and Timothy Dean. She adored her 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She will be missed by many numerous nieces, nephews and cousins to numerous to name.

Virginia is predeceased by her parents.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 25, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Gentry-Newell and Vaughan Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Sunset Gardens, Henderson, NC; officiated by Reverend Bruce Beck.
