William Marvin Fisher, 57, a resident of Stem, died unexpectedly Saturday. Marvin was born July 30, 1949 in Durham to the late Vance E. aneelizabeth Stone Fisher. He graduated from Durham High School and began working in the family business of Garland Woodcraft. Marvin had just celebrated 35 years with GTE/Verizon. He grew up in Aneer Avenue Baptist Church and was currently a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Partners for Christ Sunday School class. Marvin loved dart ball, playing on the Calvary Church team. He was also an avid golfer, always eager for his bi-annual golf trips to the beach. Marvin Fisher made family his top priority. He had a relaxed, easy going style, dry sense of humor and the ability to strike up conversation with anyone. A man of strong character
