Walter J. Mcghee, Jr.

Walter Jackson McGhee, Jr., 86, of Durham died peacefully on January 5, 2011 at his residence. Walter was born in Durham on August 26, 1924 to the late Walter Jackson McGhee, Sr. and Bessie McGhee Paris. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jean A. McGhee; son, Walter Jackson "Jack" McGhee III of Durham; daughters, Susan E. McGhee of Chapel Hill; Anita M. Vick and husband, Dennis of Mebane; grandchildren, Angela Royal and husband, Mel; Christopher McGhee and wife, Christianeelizabeth Byrd and husband, Greg; Matthew Covington and wife, Missy; Kathleen McGhee; and Jaclyn McGhee; great grandchildren, Sprout Royal, Bella Royal, Gracie McGhee, Mac McGhee, Gage Byrd, Ryder Byrd, aneeli McGhee. Funeral Services will be held 12:00 PM Friday, January 7, 2011from the Chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service with the Rev. Randall Floyd officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. Friends may visit from 11:00-12:00 PM Friday, January 7, 2011 at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Duke Home Care and Hospice, 4023 N.
