Wendy Spillane Pease died peacefully at home on May 18, 2013 in Durham, NC surrounded by her loving family. Wendy was born in Hartford, CT May 28, 1946 to the late Mildred Terrill and Julius Spillane and married her high school sweetheart, James C. Pease, on June 22, 1968. She and Jim lived ineest Hartford, CT until they moved to North Carolina in 1996. Wendy leaves behind her beloved husband, Jim, and three devoted children: Melissa Pease Scheffler and her husband Kevin Scheffler of Pittsburgh, PA; Aimee Pease Fox and her husband Matthew Fox of Arlington, MA; aneedward Barber Pease and his wife Loren Grosso Pease of Pittsboro, NC. She also leaves eight precious grandchildren: Julie, Emily & Lindsay Scheffler; Bayley & Camden Fox; and Aneew, Tyler & Bradoneease. In addition, she is survived by her sister, Beverly S. Hunter and her husband, Stuart, of Ft. Myers Beach, Fl; and brothers, Lowell T. Spillane and his wife, Susan of Saneel , Fl and Shelburne, VT and Robert W. Spillane and his wife, Cheryl, of Littleton, NH and Wineester, CT. After graduating from Middlebury College, Wendy had a career as a humaneesources officer in the financial services sector before retiring in 1996. She served in neerous capacities throughout her life, as a Deacon aneelder in the Presbyterian Church USA, a voluneer with Duke HomeCare and Hospice, a discussioneeader in Bible Study Fellowship, and a willing care giver for her mother during the last years of her life. Wendy enjoyed swimming, water skiing, and playing golf with the Nifty neer group at Chapel Hill Country Club. Above all, she cherished her faith, family, and friends aneespecially treasured time with her grandchildren. Wendy will be remembered for her kind words, genee spirit and her servant's heart. Her family and friends will celebrate her life at a memorial service at Trianee Presbyterian Church, 5001 Tudor Place, Durham, NC 27713 on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 2:00 PM.
