William Allen Braneey

DURHAM: William Allen Braneey passed away with peace and grace on Thursday with his family at his side. Bill is survived by his loving wife Gail; daughter, Kristen Cortopassi and her husband, Matt, soneeoff and wife, Christy; and grandchildren Ava, Knox and Hunter. He is also survived by his brothers, Robert and Harold; and several nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his late parents, Lendon and Gertie Braneey. Bill was born in Durham, graduated from Campbell Uneersity and served in the Uneed States Navy. His loves were his family, the beach, his dogs and ice cream. His passion was the family business, DAC Awnings, that business his father had started in 1942. His employees were an extension of the family and his work canee found all across North Carolina. Bill will always be remembered as a loving father and grandfather whose greatest passion was helping others. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday from the Chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service. Friends will be received 6-8 PM Monday in the funeral home. The family wishes to thank Joy Ngugi and Deborah Henning of Duke Hospice Care for their wonderful care.
