OXFORD: William Henry "Bill" Day died April 5, 2013. Mr. Day was born in Oxford, N.C. on Ivey Day Road. He was the son of the late Ivey Wilson and Anee Mae Hart Day. He was a member of Oxford Methodist Church. Mr. Day also was a member of the Masons and served for many years. After serving in the US ARMY during World War II, he returned to Granville County to become a dairy farmer. In 1950 he married the late Emmy Lou Woody Day. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, April 7, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Gentry neell and Vaughn Chapel by Dr. Dennis Herman. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. A visitation with family and friends will be prior to the funeral services from 2:00 3:00pm at Gentry neell and Vaughn Funeral Home. Surviving is his daughter, Emma Day McManus and her husband, Jim of Garner, NC; his son, William Henry Day, Jr. and his wife, Beth of Oxford; and his daughter, Susan Day Whitt and her husband, Randy of Oxford. His grandchildren whom he loved very much are Lynsey-Paige Phillips, Alan McManus, Marianna Whitt, Patrick Whitt, Audrey Day, and Will Day. He is also survived by his sister, Hortense Day Lasley of Charlottesville, VA and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Granville County Veterans Memorial, P. O.
