William Stanley Moss, a man of unwavering determination and a heart full of love for his country, passed away on June 22, 2024, in the community of Berea of Oxford, NC. Born on August 28, 1952, to his late parents, William Atlas Moss, Jr and Thelma Jeffries Moss, Stanley leaves behind a legacy that will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.

Throughout his life, Stanley wore many hats in his career. From working at the American Tobacco Company to dedicating himself to The NCSU Butner - Beef Cattle Field Lab and to the grounds crew at John Umstead, he exemplified hard work and commitment. Colleagues remember him for the meticulous care he took in maintaining a beautiful lawn and his selfless service as a dedicated firefighter.

A proud veteran who served in the US Army, William valued loyalty and honor above all else. His time in the military instilled in him a sense of duty that he carried with him throughout his life. Beyond his professional duties, Stanley found joy and relaxation in hobbies like being a huge fan of Duke University sports teams, reveling in the excitement of Nascar races, and passionately supporting Jeff Gordon with unwavering devotion to car #24.

Stanley's warm personality endeared him to many. Known for always checking on others and lightening any room with his quick wit and good-natured humor, he formed deep connections with all those who crossed his path. His family meant everything to him; he is survived by his beloved daughter, Megan Moss, sisters, Susan Triplett and Teresa Carden, granddaughter Karmyn Evans, as well as his close friend, Randy Whitt.

In addition to his immediate family and friends are countless extended family members and friends who were touched by Stanley's kindness and zest for life. Among them are the Satterwhite Shop community where he shared camaraderie and laughter over shared passions.

A man of strong convictions and unwavering spirit, Stanley's presence will be sorely missed but never forgotten. His memorial services will be held at Providence Baptist Church in Oxford on June 28, 2024.
