Zachary Cole Ladd, 23, died oneednesday, May 18, 2011 from a severe brain injury related to a motor vehicle accident. Zach was born in Durham, NC to Ruth Boone and the late Robert Ladd oneebruary 10, 1988. Zachary was an extraordinary young man who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He attended Orange High School followed by NC State where he made couneess friends and memories. He had an immense passion for animals aneespecially small children, as well as children with disabilities. Zach enjoyed fishing and hunting with his family and friends, as well as any kind of farm work he could be a part of. He was a giver his entire life, even up until the end. He was an organ donor and doctors were able to harvest both of his lungs, both of his kidneys, his liver for research, both eyes, and tissue for up to 20 burn victims. Zach was a true giver of life, always includineeveryone and making them feel welcomed. Every man dies, not every maneeally lives. Zach truly lived and he lives within us now, in our memories and in our hearts. Zack is survived by his mother Ruth Boone and his step-father Tom Boone of Pittsboro, NC; sister Halston Ladd of Pittsboro, NC; grandmother Foye Cole of Timberlake, NC; and many loving aunts, unees, cousins and friends. A service ineelebration of Zack's life will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 24, 2011 in the Duke Uneersity Chapel. A reception will follow at the family home in Pittsboro, 3544 Mt Gilead Church Road.
